Shipper & Receiver

Dwight Crane Ltd. is currently searching for a mechanically minded individual to fill the role of shipper/receiver with technical aptitude in their lighting division.

This is an extremely physical position. As a successful candidate you will be constantly on your feet, moving and working with 100 pound+ equipment. Overhead hoists and mechanisms will be provided to assist you. Typically you will work closely with a colleague.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare (rental) lighting orders for shipment ensuring all the correct equipment is dispatched in a timeous manner.
  • Receive returned equipment, document and inspect everything according to company procedures.
  • May be required to assemble mechanical components from time to time, following specific assembly procedures developed by LRX Lighting (Dwight Crane Ltd).
  • Be versatile and willing to perform various duties as needed to ensure smooth operation of the Lighting Department.
  • All other duties assigned to you by Dwight Crane Limited management.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • A hands-on individual who enjoys working with mechanical parts.
  • Mechanical “intuition” (intuitive understanding of what is likely to work / not work).
  • Good attention to detail, the ability to recognize faults by association (i.e. when working with one part, the ability to sense there is an issue with a hidden part.)
  • Be systematic and thorough in your approach. Carry out tasks to their conclusion and be prepared NOT to compromise standards even when under pressure.
  • Remain calm and composed when deadlines approach.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in fast and extremely physically demanding environment.
  • Shift 9:00am – 5:30pm, but should be able to work flexible hours.

Parts Counter Clerk

We are currently seeking a Parts Counter Clerk to assist in the day-to-day operations of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Process in-house Parts Request Forms, bills of lading and packing slips.
  • Place orders with vendors for parts and supplies.
  • Prepare computerized purchase orders.
  • Issue and distribute parts and supplies for internal usage.
  • Receive, sort and count incoming shipments and store in an orderly and organized manner.
  • Perform inventory counts and maintain up-to-date accurate data.
  • Assist with maintaining tool crib requirements.
  • Assist with management of visitor control.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in automotive, truck or related industry.
  • Must be physically fit and have experience working in a shop environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have valid and clean driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication skills (English) in both oral and written.
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Aerial Mechanic

We are looking for mechanics to perform inspection, diagnosis, repair and servicing of mechanical, electrical, propane and hydraulic systems of various equipment, particularly scissors lifts and zoom booms.

3 Positions Open

2 Openings - Day Shift – Mon-Fri – Early Morning Starts

1 Opening - Night Shift (after training completed) – Mon-Thu – 7:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot the various systems to identify any issues
  • Adjust and repair systems according to manufacturer’s specifications and established safe mechanical procedures.
  • Perform PDI’s, preventative maintenance services and annual inspections on equipment.
  • Review, understand and complete applicable service updates, bulletins and campaigns.
  • Dismantle systems for repair, replacement, overhaul, modification, reassemble and install.
  • Maintain detailed repair, inspection and certification records, log books and computerized records.
  • Handle customer telephone service inquiries and perform outside on-road service repairs – when training completed.
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are followed and participate in all Company safety training programs and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years working on mechanical equipment – background in automotive, forklift, heavy equipment or other motive power equipment
  • Flexible and able to work overtime and weekends when deemed necessary for the completion of work.
  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics an asset.
  • Although we provide an array of shop tools and equipment, you must provide your own basic mechanical tools.
  • Must have valid and clean driver's license.
  • Excellent communication skills (English), both oral and written.
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.

AZ FlOAT DRIVER

We are currently seeking an individual to fill the role of AZ Float Driver to transport aerial lift equipment (scissor lifts and zoom booms). This position is full-time, with a guaranteed 40 hours/week.

2 Positions Open

Day Shift – Mon-Fri – Early Morning Starts

Night Shift (after training completed) – Mon-Thu – 7:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily vehicle inspection of truck as required by law and complete the required paperwork prior to leaving the yard.
  • Load and unload equipment.
  • Secure all loads as required by law using chains/binders and straps.
  • Perform basic maintenance on truck/trailer, i.e. greasing, inspection of chains, etc.
  • Report any defects or concerns regarding truck/trailer and rental equipment to Shop Manager.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Work well independently, as well as in a team environment with other drivers and dispatchers.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Maintain safety as the priority of all tasks.

 

Requirements:

  • AZ Class Driver’s License
  • Clean abstract
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the GTA
  • Prefer candidate that lives locally
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Must be physically fit
  • Willing to perform various duties in shop environment when driving schedules slow down

310T – MECHANIC

Dwight Crane Ltd. is currently seeking a fully licensed 310T mechanic to be responsible for fleet maintenance, diagnosis and repair of various trucks, trailers, cranes, boom trucks and small vehicles. We offer an excellent hourly wage, with a guaranteed 40 hours/week.

1 Position Open

Night Shift (after training completed) – Mon-Thu – 7:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety inspections, routine PM inspections and maintenance on vehicles/equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems.
  • Complete Parts Request Forms for required parts.
  • Complete all required service documentation.
  • Perform off-site repairs on equipment when breakdowns occur.
  • Communicate effectively with Shop Manager regarding equipment status, availability and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Full 310T license
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Propane, hydraulic, electrical and heavy equipment experience an asset, but willing to train
  • Must have own mechanic's tools
  • Must have valid and clean driver's license
  • Excellent communication skills (English) in both oral and written
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work overtime and/or weekends when required to complete necessary tasks
